Here at CCOB we are joyfully intentional about spiritual growth! The apostle Paul encouraged the church in Ephesus with these words: “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” (Eph. 1:17, NIV)
So that you may know Him better. That pretty much explains the idea behind spiritual growth. To know God better. To worship, adore, love, and serve God, that we might be His faithful, Spirit-filled disciples reaching out to our neighbors with the love of Jesus Christ.
In 2020 we have several opportunities for spiritual growth. You are welcome to join us for any or all of them.
Group Bible Study: Last year a number of people requested that we offer a weekly group Bible study. We meet in the Library on Thursdays at 11:00 AM. Open to everyone, from Bible “beginners” to Bible scholars!
New Member Classes: For 2020, the New Members Class will begin on March 15th after worship (11:00 AM) in the Library and conclude after 3 sessions. New members will be welcomed on Easter Sunday, April 12th.
Children’s Sunday School: Plans are underway to resurrect our Sunday School ministry. Volunteers are needed to teach one or two Sundays a month. Sunday School will take place during worship after the children’s message with the pastor. They will be dismissed to join us in time for our closing “circle” song: “God Be With You ‘Til We Meet Again.”
For more information about spiritual growth opportunities here in Bristol Mills, please call Pastor Jim at the church office, 207-563-6843, or shoot him off an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. May all of God’s children grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!
PRAYER CHAIN: In need of prayer? CCOB has a prayer chain. Please call Pastor Jim Dowse (207-563-6610) or Dayle Strachan (207-677-2526). One of them will get the prayer chain started. Thanks to our prayer chain partners: Jan Bacon, Pat Benner, Peggy Buchanan, Janet Chase, Becky Collamore, Diane Hall, Sandy Holmes, Mabel Scherer, Carol Stark, Dayle Strachan, & Judy VanDine.
